• William Joseph Crawford (born January 28, 1984), better known by his stage name Ya Boy or simply just YB, is an American rapper from the Fillmore District of San Francisco, California. He is a cousin of Bay Area rappers San Quinn, Messy Marv and Champ Bailey (San Quinn's little brother). His song "16's With Me", whose beat sampled that of "Imperial March" from the film Star Wars, was his first big hit. In 2005, Ya Boy released his first solo mixtape Future of the Franchise, followed by his debut album Rookie of the Year on Quinn's label Done Deal Entertainment. His album features E-40, Turf Talk, Clyde Carson of The Team, San Quinn and more. The first single off the album, "Step Ya Game Up", was produced by Rick Rock. Bay Area rap was more club-oriented with the hyphy sound, Ya Boy chose to maintain a "gangsta rap" sound, so in 2006 he began an affiliation with Black Wall Street, the label owned by Compton, California rapper The Game. Ya Boy's uncle, Phat Rat introduced Ya Boy to The Game with out San Quinn's permission. Ya Boy eventually left San Quinn's label and planned to move the Southern California. He became even more known with his track "100 bars of crack" which was featured on The Black Wallstreet's mixtape "Black Wallstreet Journal Vol 1. On Kevin Federline's 2006 rap album Playing with Fire, Ya Boy appeared on the track "Dance with a Pimp". The Source magazine featured Ya Boy in its "Unsigned Hype" column. In 2007, he released the single "Holla at Ya Boy" produced by Cool & Dre for the album of the same name and a mixtape called Chapter 1: The Rise produced by DJ Skee.Ya Boy stated in an interview that year with Dubcnn.com that he signed himself to his own label Precise Music Group. In that interview, he also stated that in one his songs lyrics "No Replacement" of his mixtape, the chorus lyrics were often misinterpreted. Ya Boy explained, "It's funny, everyone is wondering if I'm rapping, 'You must not no who I be' I really thought I was clear when I said, 'You must not know Y.B.' frankly thats my name, guess it wasn't that obvious". In the same interview he said that he moved to Malibu, California and planned to release his music solely through iTunes. Much has been made about Ya Boy's relationship with Compton, California rapper The Game, and his label Black Wall Street. Although Ya Boy is affiliated, he is not, nor has he ever been signed with Black Wall Street. Ya Boy is currently looking for a major label to distribute his label, Precise Music Group. Ya Boy recently stated on his Twitter that he is planning to drop his highly anticipated sophmore album. "The Facelift" is to be released in October 2009. in 2009, a mixtape titled "Rockstar Music" was released. This mixtape is an unofficial effort with many left over tracks from ....Ya Boy....

• Former Byrd Gang/Dipset associate, Max B, was recently found guilty on multiple felony murder conspiracy charges, stemming from a 2006 robbery turned fatal. According to AOL's BlackVoices, the rapper (real name: Charly Wingate) was found guilty -- along with his brother -- of nine out of 11 different counts they were being tried on. Max's ex-girlfriend, Gina Conway, testified for the prosecution in the rapper's murder trial recently, in which she implicated the rapper in a 2006 murder/robbery in New Jersey that ended in the death of a 29-year-old man named David Taylor. She said planned the robbery in a fit of jealousy after she informed him that her now boyfriend Allan Plowden bought her expensive gifts and "drove a $120,000 Mercedes Benz and routinely carried cash." Max then recruited his step-brother Kelvin Leerdam to rob Plowden's Holiday Inn hotel room in New Jersey. During the robbery, Taylor was shot in the head, leading to the arrests of Conway, Leerdam and Max B. In exchange for her testimony, Conway will avoid a life sentence and serve 18 years on armed robbery and manslaughter charges. The rapper was arrested in late 2006 and held on $2 million bail, before finally beein released in mid-2007 after serving seven months in jail, and has been free ever since. He is scheduled to be sentenced on July 30. Max faces a life sentence for masterminding the crime. Update: Max's attorney released a statement to Miss Info (click link 4 more), revealing plans to file for appeal "swiftly." The rapper, himself, expects to be free sometime in the near future.

Although the jury has spoken and Max has been convicted of felony murder, kidnapping, robbery and conspiracy a swift and successful appeal shall follow," stated Gerald Saluti. It is inconceivable that a jury would convict Max under the facts presented by the State. Even Gina Conway, the State's own witness, testified that Max knew nothing of a robbery. Ms. Conway, a jilted lover and proven liar, said so at the trial itself.

.... Jason D. Harrow (born 1976), better known by his stage name Kardinal Offishall is a Canadian rapper and record producer. He is often credited as Canada's "Hip Hop ambassador", and is best known for his distinctive reggae and dancehall-influenced style of hip-hop. Harrow was born in Scarborough, Ontario, in Toronto's east end, and raised by Jamaican immigrant parents. He later settled in the Oakwood-Vaughan neighbourhood of York, Ontario, in Toronto's west end. He started rapping at the age of eight and was winning competitions by the time he was 12. Also at the age of 12, he performed live and on stage for the first time, with Nelson Mandela in attendance during Mandela's first visit to Toronto. By 1993, he decided to change his alias "KoolAid", and went by the moniker "Kardinal Offishall" after being inspired by the great 17th century French politician Cardinal Richelieu.

He explained that a recording session between the two has yet to take place, despite rumors about a reunion track produced by DJ Premier.[9] 5'9" digitally released The Bar Exam 2 with DJ Green Lantern later in the year, as well as a retail version of the mixtape, called The Album; the projects featured production from Green Lantern, 9th Wonder, Premier and 6 July, among others.
